Bella Poarch's natural Filipino parents had her in the Philippines, on February 9 in 1997. Her adoption took place at the age of three by her grandmother who lived in slums. Her adoptive father, a Philippine-American from a military background, was white, and American. She alleges that she along with her adopted brother as well as their mother were abused as children until she entered the military. Her family travelled to San Francisco for a few months, where they lived with their aunt before moving to Texas when she was thirteen due to her father's need to have a bypass procedure. The father was not able to end the mental abuse despite the fact that she believes physical violence had subsided. In 18 years, she enlisted with the United States Navy. Poarch started her TikTok in April of 2020 and quickly rose to fame. She amassed over 40 million followers within less than eight months. She uploaded many videos and her one that went on to become most popular was for Millie B's viral smash Soph Aspin Send. This zoomed video, which featured her lip-syncing to the song in rhythmic to the song, became all over the internet. In the months after joining TikTok she started an account on YouTube as well as a Twitter account to capitalize on her popularity. Poarch reached her peak of fame in December 2020.
